b.General International Responses to ISIS activitiesThe increase in terrorist activities in Iraq along with the continuing attacks of extremists inSyria makes a confirmation of the appeal announced in the G8 summit in regards to the needs forthe consolidation of efforts of the Syrian government and opposition to effectively work againstthe terrorist group. Within the first round of Inter-Syrian Negotiations in Geneva, the SyrianGovernment stated that the joint-fight against terror would be prioritized. However, there was anignorance of these appeals (Lundgren, 2016).Russia has so far demonstrated and expressed its support for the government and politicalagencies within Iraq in its resistance to ISIS militants while also condemning the attacksorchestrated by ISIS.
