BUSINESS ANALYTICS IMPLEMENTATION PLANFueled by the concern of climate change, the renewable energy industry has seen remarkable growth over the past few decades. Last year alone, the industry witnessed a global increase in the construction of Photovoltaics (PV) plants for the manufacturing solar panels (Feldman, Zwerling, & Margolis, 2019). The National Renewable Energy Laboratory report shows California leading the way of eight states that generate over 5% of their electricity throughsolar energy. Brand ReNewable Day will provide business intelligence resources directed at research and development for collaboration with our industry partners for product improvements.TimelineOverviewThe implementation timeline is another critical factor in the overall success of the company. With the support of IBM, the full system implementation will consist of the following four stages: analyze, build, test, and go live. The system implementation will run concurrently with the construction of the two distribution centers. The complete installation timeline will require a shorter duration since it is the initial system of the company. The system will go live one year after the start of the build phase.Development ProcessThe department leaders who are working closely with IBM support teams will conduct a full analysis of system requirements to present to the development team. The build process phase will begin in conjunction with distribution center construction and will be able to design and assemble the infrastructure needed to support the requirement specifications. System testing and end-user testing will take place at our temporary corporate headquarters before going live. The Go-Live phase will begin the grand opening of the distribution centers.Outsourcing Options
BUSINESS ANALYTICS IMPLEMENTATION PLANThe leaders gave careful consideration to the option of outsourcing our business analyticstasks. The advantages of outsourcing are as followed: we could reduce the number of employeesrequire, have access to a larger talent pool, and possibly lower the cost of labor. Conversely, outsourcing could reduce the control of directives, limits of communications preferences, and sacrificed the quality of the data (Patel, 2017). Ultimately, the decision to drive an internal culture based on business analytics compelled a conclusion to reject outsourcing options.
