However, that has led to the increase in electricity consumption by 5% on electronic communication devices due to more use of mobile phones and emails. Overall electricity costs have been down by 9%. However, you have also invested heavily on installing energy efficient equipments and products on every store. You expect to reach the breakeven by the next 6 months. Store managers have procured operational goods (e.g. paper, stationary, devices, tools, etc) from sustainable suppliers but this has increased operational costs by 8% in the last six months. You have partnered with a third party (AirTasker) to provide some deliveries that includes installation of goods at customer places. This has led to reduction of fuel usage, installation hassle, and employment of additional casual employees. However, this has also reduced the overall revenue by 2%. Your implemented staff rewards for green initiatives (for stores/breaches) have led to some additional expenditure of $50,000 in the last six months. However, with these innovative green ideas and initiates suggested by team members have led to operational efficiency by 10% which means that you employed 4 hours of less labour in every store each week (4 hours x 20 stores = 80 hours per week). This has eventually led to a massive labour cost savings of 1920 hours during last six months. Based on the outcomes, it is time for you to review and report the ongoing monitoring of the implementation of the policy to the relevant stakeholders based on their previous feedback. Task 4.1 Review, analyse and document the outcomes. Analyse the above six outcomes for your simulated workplace project (or find results from your chosen organisation). In this task you will summarise the results as reported to you by Operations Division. (6 marks) DOCUMENT OUTCOMES OF SUSTAINABILITY INITIATIVES Electricity reduction activities were a success. We had a 20% reduction as expected and were able to increase employee awareness. Water reduction activities were even more effective, we had a 30% reduction. In this way it was possible to identify that the employees were using the water in an uncontrolled way. The investment with the change of taps was high, but we have a forecast that this investment will be paid in the next 6 months. The policy communication strategies were very effective and we managed to increase the participation of a large number of employees through the available communication channels. The team was very pleased with the rewards that were given for participation and results with the sustainability strategies. Several employees were awarded bonuses, days off, trips and workshops. The training available to employees was very effective and many of them reported that they are using the knowledge acquired at their homes.
