discouraged, mistrustful, hopeless as well as cynical. Some staffs may be depending on a narrow picture of the world for their personal security and solace. Hence, vision communicating through obstacles can be difficult. The Chief Correctional officer often had to meet staffs where they were to establish some level of trust. As earlier learned, listening remained an important tool in this process. On the other hand, leaders always need to communicate the vision parts that staffs can relate. To the Chief Correctional Officer, this was not ready to think about an overall plan for transforming his staffs. However, the staffs managed to think about doing things about streets potholes. This approach helps leaders in building some trustful relationships which open ways for more. Conversely, it is also sometimes good to say things that staffs aren’t quite ready to hear. Staffs always need to think over inventive ideas of time before they make meaning of them. Innovative ideas remain important to introduce despite the fact that they engender initial resistance. Always the most robust and most vital ideas meet with opposition. The Chief Correctional Officer had to lead, and his most important aspect of his leadership was winning over the thinking of his staffs to a vision of what things could be. This two, gentleness and persistence proved vital to him.

7 25865: Interviewing Correctional Leader Courage was also a strategy that he employed in communicating his vision as a correctional leader. As a way of creating and communicating a vision, he was courageous. Leaders who communicate a vision of how things need be like are always leaders who are courageous to state what is obviously wrong as well as unjust. In many cases, it is difficult to loud that the prince is naked but once spoken people end up realizing the truth. If for instance, a correctional leader sees some clear setbacks in his institution, he must be courageous and talk about them to the staffs. Asking people how they think things to be may make one find that he has more in common with staffs than he had thought. In communicating the vision, the leader should also remain prepared for attack and opposition for what they pursue. The reason is that views that promote fundamental changes are always threatening to people. Staffs can easily campaign against the vision and in many cases; the campaigns can become quite personal. Staffs may attempt to make leader’s personal issues or shortcomings the issue, instead of the issue to be put forward. For instance, when this happened, the Chief Correctional officer gathered his close friends as well as allies around himself. Together, they came up with a plan to neutralize the vision opposition and directed the discussion back to real issues. He never tried to handle an opposition by himself. Whenever opposition was directed at him, he ran to the perspective of friends. It also helped him whenever he anticipated opposition and planned m before they his visual could be overwhelmed. Finally, developing and communicating a vision was just the start.
