ran so deep that people could not function without his leadership. Thus, turning his worldviews into the social worldview of the world. Quotes from the movie that are most pertinent to my post are these: (when Carnegie is in his bar and talking to his men) “I need that book- I want that book! It’s a weapon, a weapon aimed right at the hearts and minds of the weak and the desperate.”(Silver, Downey, Kosove, Johnson, & Washington, 2010) This shows that his intent with the Bible was not to help people grow in Christ but to control them using fear as a tool. Also, this quote comes from when Eli and his partner, Solara are having a conversation about having faith, and Solara said it didn’t make sense, but Eli responded with this, “It doesn’t have to make sense. It’s faith. It’s the flower of light in the field of darkness that’s giving me the strength to carry on.” (Silver, Downey, Kosove, Johnson, & Washington, 2010) This quote to me really gives meaning to Eli’s mission and his worldview.
