means the right doctrine. The essence of Western philosophy is that happiness is achieved thanks to the correct way of thinking, the correct theory. Vedic philosophy and other Eastern philosophies belong to the category of orthopractice. Ortopractis means the right practice, the right way of life. And therefore, Western philosophy is abstract and speculative in nature. It argues that the path to happiness is to bring your mind to harmony through a system of correct reasoning. Therefore, Western philosophy is often abstract, somewhat divorced from life, and is the lot of a few selected people. Whereas Eastern philosophy defines what is the right way of life, what is the right practice. Its representatives believe that happiness is achieved precisely through the right way of life. Modern Islamic philosophers also often write in English, since their work is focused on the elite of Arab countries that are familiar with English, Pakistan (where English is official), as well as the Muslim diaspora in Western countries. Nowadays, Islamic philosophy has undergone significant changes, including under the influence of Western civilization and philosophy. The term "Arabic philosophy" is not the only one that is used in this meaning. Philosophers and historians of philosophy also speak of "Islamic philosophy", "Arab-Muslim philosophy", "philosophy of the Arab East", etc.
