During the second wave of COVID-19, the government should provide free care and freeresearch. Isolation camps and job safety and protection should be available in areas with a highconcentration of jobs. We need a proper database to keep track of these jobs and data todetermine the rate of unemployment among them as a result of COVID-19. To ensure theworkers' employment protection, cooperation between government associations and brandbuyers is needed. Job insecurity would harm their economic and financial stability, as well as thepossibility of malnutrition ("COVID-19 Impact on selected RMG factories and way forward",2020).We saw many orders being cancelled at the start of this pandemic, which resulted in manypeople losing their jobs. Beginning in July, we've seen a resurgence of these old orders. We'veseen a rise in the export of knitwear in particular. However, the increase in orders hasn't beenconsistent. Some factories have yet to obtain any new charges and hence are unable to beginproduction. People have lost their jobs in some factories, while new workers are needed in others.
10As a result, we need accurate statistics on the number of people who have lost their jobs to linkthem to other available roles. The government must take steps to improve the situation("COVID-19 Impact on selected RMG factories and way forward", 2020).To protect workers' health and overall welfare during the COVID-19 pandemic, as well as thehealth of people in other countries, all actors in the Bangladesh RMG market, including globalhealth communities, BGMEA, foreign brands/retailers, the GoB, and the International LabourOrganization, must act quickly and effectively. Furthermore, to support Bangladesh's economicsustainability, the global supply chain and RMG trade must be tenured for the long term (Kabiret al., 2020).
11Job Insecurity in RMG Sector of BangladeshJob insecurity is when an individual fears losing their job or overall concern about the futureexistence of a job. In other works, employees in organizations that have not downsized may haveperceptions of job insecurity .There are several reasons for which a worker may feel insecurewith their jobs and they are as follows:AutomationRobotics, automation, machine learning, and artificial intelligence are gradually making theirway into the production process all over the world. Such major breakthroughs in the productionprocess will have adverse effects on the job market and the Bangladesh economy. As a result ofautomation the demand for workers in the RMG sector is declining and the future for RMGworkers is rather bleak. The introduction of machinery in the production process has a higherprobability of affecting unskilled and semi-skilled workers adversely compared to the skilledworkers.
