I believe that they would have to pay the additional fees to allow their communities to send unlimited messages. If I pay tuition, that should be something that is included as well. The world is based on communication through emails and I believe that if I were charged for something like that it should be through the institution that I pay tuition to. Not only would my emailing decrease if I had to pay for it, but I wouldn’t text message at all. A 5-cent fee really adds up when doing it as often as I do. There are many other ways of communication besides text messaging. Sure, I love to text and love to communicate that way, but the additional tax per message would be more importance to me than texting. I also believe that if the government decided to do this and decrease income taxes then most people would agree to it. This question didn’t specify how much income taxes would be decreased so there may be an opportunity cost involved in deciding if you would like to have decreased income taxes because of an extra 5-cent charge per message. But to answer the question, I would be opposed to this because I feel like it is unclear of what the consumer would get as far as how much of a decrease in income taxes.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
