The LA Weekly, ‘Memory and Manipulation’ article stated “that memories are so plastic and changeable, if a memory can be introduced, then that becomes a serious issue and a serious aspect of an investigation. Even if somebody is telling the truth, it maybe they’re telling the truth about the false memory – about something that didn’t happen” (Abramsky, 2004). This article briefly elaborates about how memories can be created and influenced by others and cannot be reliable in eye-witness testimony and civil court cases. Memories are unreliable and it can also influence evidence in criminal cases. After reading this article I have learned that there is a problem with faulty memory.
