beginning humans were the ones that turned away from God. We wanted to be just like God, to have his wisdom. Man was created with the ability to think on their own and have free will. To do as they please. Adam and Eve sinned against God and disobeyed the one commandment He gave them. With this sin there has to be consequences for their actions. Kind of like what do you do when your kids don’t do what they are told to do? “Suffering exists because humans wished to experience a world that was opposite from that which God intended” (Daniel Diffey, 2015). This created a large gap between man and God. In this large gap between man and God, He sent His son Jesus to earth to bridge the gap between us. Jesus suffered on the cross for man. This act of love was to bring us closer together again. It is also a reminder that when times get hard and we are suffering we can go to Him in these times, because Jesus truly knows what suffering really feels like. 3. Briefly summarize the Christian worldview’s response to the problem of evil and suffering. Cite and reference the lecture and/or Chapter 9 in the textbook. A Christians believes that evil and suffering are related to Adam and Eve’s first sin. When they disobeyed God. Christians interpret suffering differently than other worldviews. Christians look at God as a loving and faithful God. He will never allow suffering without some type of purpose, or a teaching tool. If a follower of God is suffering they will seek guidance and support from other Christians or from Christ. Job is a great example for suffering. Satan used him in a way to prove a point to God.
