expensive healthcare, which is most citizens in the United States. According to an article by Joanna McClanahan, she stated: “Medicaid would result in a net cost of $130 million to taxpayers over 10 years due to an increase in unintended pregnancies without the high-quality contraceptive care that Planned Parenthood provides.” (McClanahan) For example, if one party

Furthermore, Planned Parenthood shouldn’t defund because of ongoing rumors that Planned Parenthood sells fetal tissue for profit, which is not true. Many people believed that the video campaign by the Center for Medical Progress against Planned Parenthood is proof that this organization sell fetal tissue for profit, but an article that was published on Planned Parenthood website called “New England Journal of Medicine: Tearing Down the Fetal Tissue Smokescreen” by Raegan Mosley stated that “Through close coordination with federal and state politicians who want to make abortion illegal, these doctored videos have been used to try to block people from getting their care from Planned Parenthood” (Mosley) The footage that was used in the Center for Medical Progress campaign was possessed unethical and perhaps illegal methods, Mosley stated that the video was edited and misleading. Planned Parenthood has provided tens of thousands of pages of documents and hours of testimony during the investigation by congressional committees, there was no evidence to support that Planned Parenthood sells fetal tissue for profit (Mosley) Therefore, many people believed that Planned Parenthood should not be defunded. Planned Parenthood offered reproductive health services that are not always readily accessible in other clinic or hospital. An article titled “ Cuts to Planned Parenthood Have Troubling Impact On States” claims that “this year there was a rush to get HIV tests after 180 people tested positive. But there was no place to get testing services. One-fifth of all counties

Shannon Muchmore gives an example of an incident where there was no alternatives clinic other than Planned Parenthood in Scott County and 180 people were found to have HIV so the government demands the people for HIV test. However, the only testing health center nearby was closed due to a campaign that was against Planned Parenthood in 2015, which led to the fact that there was no way to get tested for HIV in the area. Although Planned Parenthood clinics are only 10% of all family planning clinics, they provide 40% of patients seeking for those services (Muchmore) Even though there are only 600 Planned Parenthood
