Strengths of Wilson's 14 points; among some important individual points “Adequate guarantees given and taken that national armaments will be reduced to the lowest point consistent with domestic safety” (President Wilson's Fourteen Points, 1919). Which individually meant disarmament. Wilson's points alsoincluded the “highest ideals, reforming foreign policy on moral and ethical grounds, rather than pure self-interest” (New World Encyclopedia). Wilson's 14 points “became the basis for the terms of the German Surrender” (New World Encyclopedia). When we look at the Treaty of Versailles which was created as a peace treaty between Allied and Associated Powers and German Empire. “Germany protested the terms, (saying) they were too harsh” (Goff, 2008. pg.156). “The terms of the treaty, Germany lost Alsace-Lorraine to France, several small districtsto Belgium, one to Czechoslovakia, and a large portion of eastern Germany to Poland” (Goff, 2008. pg. 157).
