Greeting and dealing with guests This was the most enjoyable part of the internship for me where by I was greeting the guests when they entered to the restaurant. From here I have learned how to handle the guests with a responsibility and care for the very first time. There were lots of good memories and also a huge experience. That time they give me one particular section in the restaurant to take care, first time I was so nervous because my shift was morning shift and morning time the restaurant was so busy because of the complimentary breakfast but my supervisor helped me a lot to done my work. The restaurant has the buffet and kitchen both so my duty was take care the guest about their refill, clean the table after dining. Basically for breakfast time is 6am to 10:30am; lunch time 12pm to 2:30pm and dinner time is 6pm to 10:30pm. Take care of the buffet After a month of working day by day I became mo re confidential and responsible to my work. That’s why my manager put me in the buffet section during my internship. The duty in the buffet section was taking care of the buffet station and look after the guest serve with most cordially by follow the SOP of the hotel as well as if any food is finished then I had to refill that food from the kitchen. Sometimes I had to serve the food from the buffet to the guests based on their request. Serving the guest from the buffet was so challenging for me because they have standard portion for some particular food and every guest was not same, some guest was so nice to handle and on the other hand I got trouble to handle some guest. During 1 week I have learnt how to handle the buffet are and how to serve the guest from the buffet, arrange and decorate the buffet for the breakfast was so interesting for me because decorating the buffet with different kind of food was so creative. Learning POS system and Billing Handling POS was one of the most important thing at F&B during my training, my manager teach me how to use the POS system in the restaurant and how to do the bill for the guest and how to settle the bill even he teach me how to find the total sale of the restaurant. This week manager again put me on the floor and gives me one particular section to take care with my own card to use the POS, from this week I start to use the POS for order and making bill. When I get my own card I felt more responsible to my work.
