The cooling towers then cool the hot water and recirculate it ensuring the temperatures at the engine are kept reasonably low. The diesel power engine is advantageous in that its design and layout is simple; it is compact thus occupying less space and requires less amount of water for cooling. Additionally, diesel power plants require less operation and supervision. The major disadvantage is its high charges of running due to the high cost of diesel. The engine also generates small amounts of power and has high charges of maintenance.
