Of course, using the four lenses, the idea of wellness apps and devices has been shaped. Wellness was defined as the active deeds that individuals do to be healthy. That is best explained in how individuals are getting wellness devices and apps and couple that with physical exercises and dieting. Throughout the research, I understood that there are factors that affect the use of the wellness devices which include among other the levels of income and education. These to me were eye openers and hence, my chosen topic has impacted my idea of wellness in a great way. The components of wellness influence me personally as well as collectively in the field of psychology in many ways. For psychologists, an ideal client is self-motivated to be the change they want to achieve which goes beyond traditional psychotherapy and includes nutrition, mindfulness, physical exercise among others. The influence has reached a point where I see psychological symptoms and their physical symptoms holistically and not through the lens of “disorder”. Changing attitudes, choices, and behaviors have the potential to improve personal and societal wellness as they help individuals learn that wellness does not come packaged in a pill but rather in the choices of living people make. As such, people must integrate all dimensions of wellness if they are to be holistically healthy. While medication works, the focus has to be on prevention and not cure. Every individual has the innate ability of being healthy if they focused on wellness. Important to note is that a holistic lifestyle prevents illness while promoting wellness. References
