dependent on fossil fuels to be separated, we have to ask ourselves if this is the alternative answer to energy problems and the answer to solving CO2 problems. Hydrogen seems like the answer to our growing demand for energy but building a hydrogen infrastructure will prove to be a daunting task, especially when you compare it to batteries. In my opinion, a hydrogen driven economy is a ways off and the social acceptance is even further away because of the perspective of safety. Case in point is the Hindenburg that used hydrogen to make it float. That scene is still etched in the minds of the American people. So, from a safety point of view, hydrogen brings with it a unique hazardous element in that it is odorless and colorless. Without proper training on a national scale, this would put people at a higher risk for the potential of exposure. I’m not against hydrogen or any technology that will improve our lives for the better, but we need to be proactive and educate ourselves before we have a knee-jerk reaction to the latest and greatest thing going. The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
