of fairness which can affect the overall behavior of the employee [Fal06]. Human resource managers having the right answers will be key to ensure employees stay on board with the company’s decision. Providing employees with educational material to ensure they understand what leaving wage is and how it will positively impact them. IKEA’s human resource managers will need to be diligent in collecting real time data and analyzing the cost of living information collected in all areas IKEA has a presence in. The human resource managers need to understand the affects a wage increase will have to not only their area but surrounding communities and ensure the increase in employees’ wages can be sustained long-term by understanding the strength in their market in each area IKEA has a presence in. Overall, IKEA must ensure the wage increase they are implementing is sustainable and will not adversely affect their employee’s or customers. Human resource managers should communicate with employees and take time to listen to them to ensure all employees feel and believes the company values them and appreciates their loyalty to the company. Creating and implementing aprogram which cultivates a team atmosphere and provides a career path for their employees, so IKEA can promote within their company.
