Types of Epidemiologic Studies There are 4 basic methods or designs for epidemiological studies. Incidence Studies In this study mostly there is a measurement of exposures and outcomes. The study includes observation of the source population in which the cohort is not formally enumerated. There is distinction in between population based incidence studies and “Cohort study” Incidence Case-Control Studies This is a preferred approach for studying the basic cause of disease because of the usage of maximum available information. However, this is expensive and more time consuming by the results extracted from case-control studies are more accurate and efficient for getting the information and knowledge of the case. Prevalence Studies Prevalence studies are used to know or follow-up the large resources of the disease cause. Many prevalence studies involves exposure status and sampling for incidence. Though, these sampling does not affect the basic type of the study.

Prevalence Case-control Studies “Prevalence case-control studies” is used to get the cohort study of the same finding. Most of the samples which used in this study are opted from non-cases. Normal Cellular Growth Cellular growth is biological process in which cells gain mass and increase their size physically. For a normal cell, there is a 70% presence of water and also macromolecules like Proteins, polysaccharides, lipids and nucleic acid. Cell Growth and Tumorigenesis According to many studies, tumorigenesis is indicated in oncogenes and proto-oncogenes on de- regulating the cell life cycle control. Also, ACTR/AIB1 is traced in very alarming level in many cases of human cancers, including lung cancer. ACTR/AIB1 is a best cure so far for the treatment of lung cancer or silicosis and it allows the cell growth for independent proliferation of hormones. ACTR has exceptional results in ER-breast cancer and cell proliferation. For determining the ACTR’s role in tumorigenesis, tumour xenograft model and the model of transgenic. The results and outcomes of this study report will be valued for providing “Novel Molecular Targets” and for drug screening for the advancement in ACTR in silicosis. Co-morbidities among Silicosis Studies revealed much morbidity and mortality for the workers of Silicon environment due to silicosis. Besides silicosis, the workers there also have to suffer from other debilitating co-morbidities like under nutrition tuberculosis.
