Sarin, F., & Wallin, L. (2014). Cognitive model and cognitive behavior therapy for schizophrenia: An overview. Nordic Journal of Psychiatry, 68 (3), 145-153. doi:10.3109/08039488.2013.789074 This article talks about the suffering of the patient themselves and also their families.it also talks about how difficult schizophrenia is to treat. It talks about positive and negative symptoms of schizophrenia and a few treatments that patients use. This will help me elaborate more on how these medications contribute to the help of the patients and as well as their families. It will also allow me to provide information on how long treatment may take. Schiller, L., & Bennett, A. (1996). The Quiet Room . New York, NY: Grand Central Publishing. This book is about Lori Schiller who was diagnosed with schizophrenia at a young age of 17. She takes you on the path of her experience with the illness and how her family and friends took it. The book is told in her point of view as well as some of her family members and friend Lori Winters. This book will help me with my question because it gives me someone with a personal experience to the illness and will help me describe the symptoms and treatments that were associated with it as well as how the people around her were affected by this.
