ACADEMIC RESOURCE/STRATEGY 1 The Walden Library is one of the academic resources I plan to use throughout my time in this MSN program. It will give me the opportunity to retrieve dependable scholarly sources supporting my research, as well as the ability to navigate different search strategies. In addition, I will also be able to apply the scholarly research to my own research in effort to create positive social change as an advanced practitioner in my workplace and environment. According to the library, one of their goals is to “offer a research-based program of student-centered information literacy instruction, creating both best practices and empowered scholar practitioners” (About: Overview, 2020). With that being said, I believe that with the utilization of the library and the resources it has to offer, I will reach my goal and the library’s goal of becoming an empowered scholar practitioner. Some additional resources I plan to use through the library is attending informative webinars, tutorials, and guides, as well as using the librarian for additional questions I may have. With the utilization of The Walden Library, I believe that it will help further my success in the MSN program by guiding and molding me into the scholarly practitioner I dream to be. I plan to apply the knowledge that I gain through the library to my own practice and incorporate positive social change to my academic and professional career. Resources About: Overview. (n.d.). I plan to continue to use the Walden students as one of my academic resources throughout the MSN program because they will support me, give advice and feedback on course assignments, and answer similar questions and concerns I have myself. The students at Walden can relate to me the most academically because we are all embarking on this journey together; we are not alone. Before I started the MSN program, I was extremely nervous and stressed about beginning an online program, but once I joined the Facebook group with other Walden students, I felt a sense of ease and reassurance. I found this group through Walden, which was created to “share ideas, success tips, career advice, and personal experiences with others” (Walden Facebook Groups, 2020). In this Facebook group, other students were asking the same questions and concerns I was having, which I found extremely useful when completing the first weeks discussion and assignment. Another advantage of this Facebook group, is that it has allowed me to build relationships and connections with other students with similar goals across the world.
