To reduce errors, the development of information technology (IT) has been the most sought avenue in providing patient centered care with an aim of reducing errors. Paper requisitions, transfer of orders, manual changes are all been set aside so as to use computer based technology with an aim of reducing errors and improving patient’s care ( Murphy, 2011) . As it is the case with any new introduction or change, there was substantial resistance from the healthcare providers. This was aimed at reducing paper, verbal and telephone methods, allowing providers to electronically enter medication orders, laboratory results, admissions, referrals and even procedure orders.
