After understanding what ABA is, Mrs. Pearson showed me a board in her classroom. This board had all the students names on it, with stickers following but varying next to each kids name.Mrs. Pearson explained how the stickers indicated reading time for them. Everyday for homework they would get assigned 30 minute of reading time. The next day when they would come to school, if that reading was completed and signed by a parent, then they would receive a sticker. At the end of the week, the kids with the most stickers would receive a special treat, and then at the end of the month, the kids with the most stickers again would be enrolled in a raffle or choose an item from the treasure chest. Mrs. Pearson was motivating the kids to read and complete that homework assignment to achieve that reinforcement. To make it even more motivating, she made it where they had the opportunity to have access to that reinforcement either at the end of the week or at the ed of the month.
HOW WOULD PARENTS REACT TO ABA BEING USED IN THE CLASSROOM?Mrs. Pearson said that the process of ABA would need to be thoroughly explained to the parents. She would do that by making a quick presentation of what it is and explaining to all parents how not only is it
