my child. I quit my jobs and now I'm a full time student and a full time mom. The work load from school is rather large and requires serious dedication to complete all assignments and learn the required criteria that will be useful in the dental field. Time management is very important when being a student for Dental Assisting. It is very important to make sure you have adequate time to complete assignments and do book work as well as read the suggested criteria. I focus on school a minimum of 7 hours on school days. It helps to have a previousskilled medical background when studying dental assisting. Alternative skills that can assist in having a dental assisting career are customer service, and receptionist work. I use my son as an "assistive device" when it comes to studying. I repeat words to him and he repeats them back and we create memories as well as unique ways for me to remember certain things. I try to include him as much as I can when I'm doing homework. It's a great feeling knowing I'm choosing a profession that makes it easy for me to care for my family. So far, dental assisting school has been very enjoyable and fun, however, I can't wait to see where life takes me.
