nearly impossible to have any sort of conversation with the people at your table. So don’t go there on a romantic first date- you will leave not knowing one more thing about the person you are with However, because we had been there before, we got there early and found a table toward the back so we could have a bit of a conversation about the band, the music, their interactions, and the music review that I am writing now. As far as the individual tracks, it's also difficult to pick out the standout tracks; really, they all stand out. There was one called “Wolf on the Prowl” that resonated with me. It begins with a strong harmonica, wailing away prominently- and the first lyrics that state “It was well after midnight…” and a second verse that starts with “I was down by the river…” It just screams CLASSIC BLUES… This band has made a significant impact on the music scene. Tommy has (what seems to be) a relentless drive which offers a high energy, soulful performance that” incorporates blazing guitar, booming vocals and a tight rhythm section” ( ). One of the best compliments I found about the Tommy Hogan Band is captured in this quote from a well-known recording artist: "What was once said about the great Robert Johnson

TOMMY HOGAN BAND 6 can be said about Tommy Hogan: He's got one eye turned to the past, because he's learned so much from the masters, but he's also looking toward the future, he wants to make music that will ring true for the next generations. [He has] soulful vocals, smoking guitar playing and a commanding presence" (Franck "Paris Slim' Goldwasser- Delta Groove Recording Artist, (Mannish Boys). From all of the reading and studying of jazz this term, I know that being compared to Robert Johnson is an incredible compliment. Though I am by no means a “jazz expert” I do know that even being considered as similar to one of the world’s greatest jazz musicians must feel like a million bucks. I thoroughly enjoyed this performance and look forward to more at Ivories Jazz Lounge. It’s an overall great experience, and is extremely affordable if you purchase your tickets through . My husband and I got dinner and wine for two, and the cover charge included for $30.00. It was a great night, and I was able to impress my husband with all of my new found knowledge of jazz musicians, instruments, and rhythms.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
