Illustrate or find an example from the internet of the relationship.Repairs or corrective maintenance is a task to identify and resolve any issues orproblems with equipment.Preventive Maintenance is the everyday upkeep of such equipment in order toprevent repairs. The first thing that came to mind that helped me relate this topic in a basic waywas to think of a vehicle. Every vehicle needs their oil changed, fluidsreplenished, belts changed, etc to keep it in good working order. This is thepreventive maintenance. When something fails on the vehicle due to poorupkeep or long use then a repair is needed to fix the problem. Preventive isbefore a problem exists where repairs are the result of a problem.Preventive maintenance tends to cost more than what you would want to payand it will drive up your cost and down your profits but it will save you moneyin the long run as long as the repairs are kept to a minimum. The repair costsare what can hold your company back. They can stop production or cost a lot ofmoney to repair which will affect your bottom line. I know some friends of minewho own their own company have gotten into trouble because they did not wantto pay the extra money for the preventive work and had to pay 10 times morefor the repairs, not to mention their business slowed down because of it.Doing your homework on the maintenance and upkeep of any equipment youuse for your business will save you tons in the long run. Do now forget aboutyour vehicle being part of that maintenance plan. Here are a few links for information:versuspreventivemaintenancewhatisthedifferenceandwhereisthevaluevspreventiveequipmentmaintenance/maintenanceversuspreventativemaintenance.htmlJerimiah
