LO1 – Demonstrate a range of interpersonal and transferable communication skills to a target audience P1 – Demonstrate, using different communication styles and formats, that you can effectively design and deliver a training event for a given target audience. 02. The Training Event The editor’s team choose Microsoft Office Package basics as the training event, which was to conduct. The editor’s team choose this topic because Microsoft Office Package is having used by many people around the context of working area. Microsoft Office is a huge illustration and the leader of the editor’s team came to a decision of discussing their main topics at the training event, which were Microsoft Office Word, Microsoft Office Excel and Microsoft Office PowerPoint. Group leader came with the idea of conducting the event on Microsoft Office and many members agreed on that idea. The curriculum developer, who was another member of the team came with a different idea to, conduct the event on networking basics. All the group members agreed to that idea and the leader kept that valuable idea as the second plan which in professional practice known as the contingency plan. However all the members agreed on one decision that the future work more easily. When forming the group there were 17 members in all .all the members had their specific own role in the team. The leader was well aware on the roles so that it made easier for him as well as the other members to know about their role well. The members of the team were as follows. Mr.janathan, Miss.Manisha, Miss.Shashi, Miss.Anne, Miss.Yathushana, Miss.Vahini, Miss.Nishadhi, Mr.Enura, Mr.Sudesh, Mr.Thilanka, Mr. Ismail, Mr. Nilosh, Mr.Yasiru, Mr.Chathura, Mr.Ali, Mr.Harshad and the editor himself (Mr. Dulantha). Mr.janathan was the group leader and Miss Manisha was the treasure, Miss Shashi was the sole secretary. Mr.Enura, Miss.Yathushana, Mr. Ali were the Curriculum developers in the team. Their sole responsibility was to prepare the training materials, which the conductors ha to present on the training day itself. Miss Nishadhi, Mr. Sudesh and Miss.Vahini were the presenters of Microsoft Office Excel. Miss Nishadhi was the Excel group leader and the main presenter. Miss.Vahi was the computer handler where she had to demonstrate the basic of excel which Miss Nishadhi presents. Also because of the language barrier, Miss. Vahi had to be a Tamil translator while Mr. Sudesh had to work as the English translator. These team members also made the notes about excel in booklet, which was given to the audience. Mr.Lanka, Mr.Chathura, Mr.Yasiru were the presenters of the Microsoft Office PowerPoint.
