The team is social, but social activities are completely optional and not too often that they become overwhelming.” • “People here are friendly and collegial. It is not cutthroat or overly competitive and there are opportunities to work closely with people at different seniority levels. I would not characterize this office as overly social but we do have associate happy hours and get-togethers several times a year. The attorneys in the office are active in the summer program and take the time to go to events.” • “The office culture is relaxed and the work is enjoyable. But, there are partners in the LA office who are pretty difficult to work for, which has a negative impact on overall job satisfaction.” Associate/Partner Relations • “The partners, including (perhaps even especially) the head of our group treat the associates as peers. There’s not much of a hierarchy here.” • “It varies from partner to partner but most seem to value associates and their work. Generally the partnership as a whole appears to value associates and listens to associate needs (even if they are not able to resolve every issue). There could be more transparency into the decision-making process and status of the firm. We have semi-annual meetings to learn about the state of the firm but the data provided can sometimes be sparse.” • “I have direct contact and work closely with all partners who I work under. In fact, I’ve never had a project where I have to report to a senior associate or an of counsel. MoFo is great with letting us know what the firm is up to. We get emails at least once a month on any major events that affect the firm.” • “Generally, partners and associates work hand in hand on matters. Although there are instances where one would wish a partner was more involved, typically partners make themselves available to associates.” Hours • “The hours expectations are reasonable and MoFo counts pro bono hours towards bonuses, which is great. The workload is reasonable and is distributed evenly among associates. While there isn’t an emphasis on face-time, it is more or less expected that associates work from the office during office hours. If an associate is working from home, its usually expected that they have a good reason for doing so.” • “It’s BigLaw so the hours can be hard at times. That being said, there is no face-time requirement so often times the long hours can be worked at a venue of your choosing.” • “Given a reasonable amount of work. No real face-time requirements. Work is sometimes not as evenly distributed as it should be, but that still may be a result of recent additions to the practice and the need for more integration.” • “A 1950 hour bonus cut off isn’t as high as many other firms, and it’s a lot easier to achieve when there’s no limit to the amount of pro bono one can do, especially at a firm that is so open to working on pro bono projects. Nevertheless, 1950

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
