also established that the depression risk for children in wave I was lower compared to the general population. However, in wave II the depression risk ratio increased to 2.6. The study also found out that there was a directly related to the risk of suicide and mental health. Also, it was established that obesity was prevalent in adults with same-sex parents than the comparison group. Furthermore, the multivariate results revealed that children with same-sex parents were 2.6 times more likely to be depressed compared to their counterparts. As hypothesized, other factors such as anxiety at adolescence and suicidality were strong predictors of mental health outcomes in early adulthood. Since there was the delayed onset of depression for children with same-sex parents, the author suggested that there was “no difference” between children who had opposite-sex parents and those who had same-sex parents. However, the interpretation of the results is speculative, and this might be one to question the validity of the results. For this reason, I feel that the author could have provided a more substantive rather than speculative interpretation of the results.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
