Immunity: the state of being resistant to a specific disease.[Ehr09] Immunoglobulins: bind with specific antigens in the antigen-antibody response. The five primary types of immunoglobins are also known as antibodies. [Ehr09] cervical nodes: are lymph nodes located along the sides of the neck. [Ehr09] axillary nodes: are lymph nodes located under the arms in the are called the arm pit. [Ehr09] B lymphocyte: are specialized lymphocytes that produce and secrete antibodies. [Ehr09]

T lymphocyte: small lymphocytes that mature in the thymus as a result of exposure to the hormone thymosin, which is secreted by the thymus. [Ehr09] thymus gland: the thymus is an endocrine gland that assists the immune system. [Ehr09] natural immunity : is passed from the mother to her fetus before birth. This immunity last only a short time. [Ehr09] lymph : the fluid that removes cellular waste products, pathogens, and dead blood cells from the tissues. [Ehr09] cytokines: A small protein released by cells that has a specific effect on the interactions between cells, on communications between cells or on the behavior of cells. The cytokines includes the interleukins, lymphokines and cell signal molecules, such as tumor necrosis factor and the interferons, which trigger inflammation and respond to infections.
