In Canada, it is the law to have a basic third party liability coverage. By law you must have at least $200,000 in third party liability coverage, but most people choose $1 million or $2 million . Third party liability provides coverage when a policyholder or insured driver is responsible for an automobile accident: That results in property damage Where someone is injured or killed. Collison Coverage: this insurance is often the expensive part of an insurance policy and varies on the vehicle, driver and other factors. Collision coverage provides financial compensation for damages that occur to the vehicle due to an accident. This will include accidents with another vehicle or a stationery object. Accident Benefits: This will cover medical fees is anyone suffers injuries in a car accident in Ontario. This will also cover hospital fees such as ambulance. Comprehensive Insurance: This covers damage to your car from incidents other that collisions. This includes coverage for: Theft Vandalism Glass damage (such as a broken windshield)
