If Lael promotes Liz, there is no doubt that she will get the financial help and her immediate supervisor will be very happy. But she does not deserve in actually and it can create a discrimination issue for Roy and Quang. If Lael, Promotes Quang, there is no doubt that company will get a good, smart and professional manager with all qualities, but she is very young for this position and it can be a discrimination issue for Roy because he is much senior and deserve it from a long time. If Lael promotes Roy, there is no doubt that he deserves the promotion because he is the most senior in all candidates with average performance. There will be no legal issue in that case. But this can impact the decision of Lael’s future growth by his immediate supervisor who wants that Lael should promote Liz.
