Our email network and mobile applications are safety encrypted, and information is labeled as protected health information. Even though this additional level of protection could stop a potential breach, there is always room for human error, misspelling, and illegal breaching of information. We can not expect all technology to be error proof, so we must be sure that we are always using safety methods with each healthcaretechnology use. Although we are provided several technological advances to enhance our patient care practices, we can not become overly reliant on them to a fault. Promising HealthcareTechnology TrendsWith the continued merger of healthcarecompanies and larger organizations, it is reasonable to believe that the communication of healthcareinformation will continue to merge, expand, and advance. We continue to hear about the possible merging of companies that once spent their time working against each other to be the healthcareindustry leader. Joining providers across the healthcarenetwork will promote patient care continuity and unity in our field as it decreases the level of competition and error that is sometimes found. Although it will be difficult to have one system in place for all providers in healthcare, it will be important to increase communication among the varying disciplines.
