“kill” the leak. This event made headlines for days, weeks, and months. It wasn’t the largest, but it was a huge oil spill, worth historically noting. British Petroleum, as soon as the event occurred, made sure that they were doing everything in their power to make sure that anything and everything that could be done, was being done to stop this leak. The U.S. Government worked with U.S. Naval and Coast Guard personnel as well as the State of Louisiana to “help” BP get a wrangle on this situation. British Petroleum was setting up hotlines and relief efforts to rescue the men who died and also to take care of the pipeline that was seeping thousands and thousands of gallons of oil in to the Gulf. Senator Barbara Boxer of California (D), took BP to task over their handling of the oil spill. Political Differences The political differences between these two companies are drastic, first of all, when it comes to the fact the Toyota is “endangering” human lives according to the US Government, and BP is “endangering” our environment, according to this same entity, we have to ask ourselves, which is more important: lives or nature? The question is easy, in my opinion, lives, because you cannot replace a life, but you can help save nature by doing the right things, and of course, everyone knows that Mother Nature will take care of herself, and using the Oil Spill as an example the oil just seemed to disappear from the water, where did it go? Mother Nature can

Running Head: SAME CRISIS, DIFFERENT COUNTRY take care of herself. Our government said that BP lied to them on the severity of the situation, and my question is how could they? Because they had cameras down there recording and monitoring how much oil was being lost on a daily, minute by minute basis. Our government says that Toyota needs to take care of those that are affected by their recall, I say, they don’t because people will take care of themselves, and they do not need the government for that. Their should be no politics when it comes to free enterprise, because the government has no real sense of how to run a business or even regulate one. "We had a very specific plan," he told the Senate. "It has actually worked." But he acknowledged the spill could grow to nearly 19m US gallons by the time a relief well – the only sure method of stopping the leak – is drilled. BP's defence came at the end of a testy day of hearings before two committees which saw the three oil titans connected to the disaster repeatedly accused of trying to slough off their financial and legal obligations. Executives of BP America, which owned the well, Transocean, which owned the sunken Deepwater Horizon rig, and Halliburton , which cemented the wall, were repeatedly taken to task by senators for failing to put in place adquate safety regimes. BP was also pressed for specifics on its commitment to honour all " legitimate claims" for damages from the spill.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
