Another comparison between mythology and the most

another comparison between mythology and the most prominent religions of today due to how significant of a role Zeus seems to play throughout the poem, which reminds me of the role Jesus plays in Christianity and Prophet Muhammad in Islam. Hesiod made sure the readers understood Zeus’ powerful role by pointing out that the song the Muses sang began and end with him in it. Another way his importance is displayed through the motif of Zeus being associated with authority and strength. Throughout Theogony , the phrase “aegis-bearing Zeus” (lines 32, 61-62, 1065, etc.) is repeated every time he is involved and as well as when his daughters are mentioned. For example, in the beginning, the text says, “Here are the words the daughters of aegis-bearing Zeus, the Muses of Olympus, first spoke to me,” (lines 32-33) and and the last lines of the poem say, “But now, the sweet-singing Olympian Muses, daughters of aegis bearing Zeus, sing of mortal women,” (1064-1065). It is almost as if Zeus cannot be be named without the attachment of those words, as if it is a part of his name. This motif can specifically be compared the role of Prophet Muhammad in Islam because religiously, when Muslims say his name, there is also a phrase that goes with it that presents a sign of having utmost respect towards him and with the power he is described with, its seems Zeus had just as an important role, except in mythology.
