Thread:Question 7: Process CapabilityPost:RE: Question 7: Process CapabilityAuthor:Posted Date:January 11, 2016 9:37 PMStatus:Published(Post is Read)I enjoy recreation pistol and rifle marksman ship. The way I think of processcapability is a tight grouping but off of center. You may have your shots allwithin a 4 inch circle but it is 18 inches from your target. The shooter isperforming with minimal variation but not on target. This would be an exampleof having high process capability but lower process capability index. Toincrease the index number the shooter will need to be consistent (lowvariability) and on target. For me both are meaningful; in process improvementyou need to make sure the process is statistically stable before removing gaps.Christopher HolderThread:Newill Week 4 #21Post:Newill Week 4 #21Author:Posted Date:January 9, 2016 7:22 PMStatus:PublishedWhat are the steps in the Six Sigma improvement model and how do theyrelate to the PDCA (now often referred to as PDSA) cycle?
Measure: Collect data about the current process. Make sure to include each stepand what is included to make each step occur. Make sure that this data isaccurate and reflects the actual process.Linda Newill
