2. Outline the components of their information system. The System Information and Analytics (SIA) Department manages the information system of NSW Health. The SIA Branches includes several units which manage the different components of the organisation’s information system. The Performance Analysis and Reporting unit is in charge of managing the computer hardware, software and telecommunications requirements of NSW Health; thus providing the critical analytics infrastructure required to support the various data, information and analytical needs. The information Management and Quality unit is responsible for gathering and providing dependable data. The Integrated Care Monitoring and Evaluation unit manages the human resources component of the information system. They are responsible for quantifying and reporting on the system’s activity and performance to propose healthcare improvement initiatives for NSW Health. 3. Research and describe 1 technological change that has an impact on any of the IS components. This could relate to any part of the business. The continued growth and expansion in global technologies has enabled the development of several electronic health information systems which has allowed NSW Health to improve the efficiency and quality of care to their patients. The most significant technological change is the introduction of Electronic Health Records (EHR), where the medical information of an individual can be simultaneously managed and accessed across multiple healthcare organisations. The ongoing success of the EHR is strongly dependent on effective data collections and data warehousing. To successfully manage and analyse the collected data, updated computer hardware and software must also be utilised. NSW Health must also ensure that secure data backup systems are in place and procedures are in place to ensure that information is up to date.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
