Before taking the Syllabus and Safety Quiz, read the course syllabus thoroughly and go over the PowerPoint presentation “Safety in the General Chemistry Laboratory”, which is posted on the Blackboard site ( ) for this course. The link is under the “CHEM1151 Student Resources” tab, “Introduction to the General Chemistry Laboratory Program”. To access the quiz, go to the Blackboard site ( ) for this course and click on the " Assignments" tab. A score of at least 80% must be obtained in order to be admitted into the laboratory. Three attempts are allowed to complete the quiz. You will NOT be allowed to work in the lab without successfully completing the Safety Quiz. If you have not successfully completed Safety Quiz by the deadline (11:00 PM the day before your Investigation 1 lab session ), you will be given the opportunity to take the quiz after the closing date , but you will receive NO CREDIT for the quiz (your score will be manually recorded as zero) . Once you have successfully completed the Safety Quiz, you will be allowed into the upcoming laboratory sessions.
