perfume, handbags, clothing, pirated movies, music, and software, drugs such as marijuana, alcohol, and tobacco (Economy Watch, 2010). 2 People can be deterred from doing business on the black market by “the easing of legal restrictions and by increasing the availability of goods” (Economy Watch, 2010). An excellent example of a black market item is the market of bootlegged movies and music. I performed an internet search on this topic and was surprised to find how effortless it is to watch new movies illegally on the computer. A website 3 that offers live streaming of these illegal movies is called Solar Movie. There are numerous movies and television shows available to watch such as: The Amazing Spiderman, The Campaign, Disney’s Brave, as well as many more. This particular site seems to take a greater risk that most sellers in the black market because he or she is not charging a fee to watch these movies, therefore, the loss would be even greater should they be captured and arrested. http://www.solarmovie.eu/ Leviticus 19:11 says: “You shall not steal; you shall not deal falsely; you shall not lie to one another” (Holy Bible, ESV). This instruction seems perfectly clear to me. We remember the commandments that God gave us through Moses. God did not intend for us to take things from one another or to cheat at anything. We should do everything as it were for God himself. Would we steal from God? Would we steal for God? We certainly should not. He commanded us to do the opposite. We are to help those around us in need. 1 Retrieved from http://www.economywatch.com/market/market-types/black-market.html. 2 Retrieved from http://www.economywatch.com/market/market-types/black-market.html . 3 Retrieved from http://www.solarmovie.eu/
