This is a more straight-forward question to learn about the candidates’ teaching style
and classroom management during instruction.

century learning techniques and elaborate on how
they use movement to enhance instruction using center rotations, interactive lessons,
role playing, etc.
Through the interview with my principal, the person in charge of hiring lower school
teachers, I gained insightful knowledge on how to strategically question a potential teacher.
As

teachers, we are encouraged to promote higher order thinking from our students by planning
questions to ask that will help our students think more complexly.
The style of interviewing that
was explained in this conversation was very similar to what a good educator does their students.
By using a more intricate set of questions, the candidate has the opportunity to showcase a more
extensive representation of themselves as an educator rather than simply providing definitions of
buzz words or elaborating on their resume.
By giving the instructional candidate more
meaningful questions it allows administration to gain personal insights, see the candidates’
personality and hopefully gives a snapshot into the candidates’ background as a person and
educator.
