Chemical Bonding Three general types of chemical bonds: 1. Ionic bond – anions/cations held together electrostatically (ionic solids or ion pairs) A compound is a net charge neutral substance made up of two or more different elements in a defined ratio held together by chemical bonds. sodium chloride (NaCl), methane (CH 4 ), phosphorus trichloride (PCl 3 ). 3. Metallic bond – electrons shared simultaneously between many nuclei (metals) 2. Covalent bond electrons shared between 2 adjacent nuclei (molecules)

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
