ne employee, the orders’ info such as order number, order date, ship date, and customer id and employee id are recorded. All customers’ information and employees’ information (i.e. customer’s first name, customer’s last name, employee’s first name etc.) ar e also stored. When each order is created, the products that customers ordered are checked in their current inventory in order to provide accurate order’s ship date estimation. If the product’s quantity on hand is less than the quantity ordered, then additional products are requested to vendors. For each request, product id, vendor id, wholesale price and days to deliver are recorded. All vendors’ information and product’s information (i.e., vendor’s name, product’s description, and product’s retail price e tc.) are also stored. The figure above shows the logical schema of Dallas WareHouse’s OLTP. The CEO of Dallas WareHouse Inc. wants a data warehouse that can capture one important business process. He would like to determine how much each customer order by week, month, and year, and how many orders are created by time periods. He is also interested in how many orders are made on weekends, and holidays. The figure below shows the date dimension table of Dallas WareHouse’s OLAP. Import CSV file from eCollege , and then create SSIS package solution that can perform ETL process to load data into your Date dimension table (10 points). Hint: DATEPART function and conditional statement can create most ETL date attributes.
