There were mutually agreed aims and objectives, and everyone had a clear understanding of these. 2. All had balanced roles. There was a good balance of skills, abilities and aspirations. Team members have a clear understanding of each individual’s roles in achieving overall team objectives. 3. Effective processes. There were good processes for making, communicating implementing and reviewing decisions. There were effective information systems and co-ordination of resources. 4. 5. Appropriate leadership The team trusted the team leader and felt that it is led in an appropriate way. 6. Support and trust Team members helped each other by listening, evaluating, offering ideas, encouraging experimentation and giving support. 7. Openness and conflict Members express themselves openly and honestly. There was a willingness to work through difficult situations or conflict constructively. 8. Mutual co-operation There was a readiness to be involved and committed. Individuals’ abilities, knowledge and experience are pooled and used by the team. There was acceptance of each other’s strengths and weaknesses. 9. Sound inter-group relations. The team enjoyed good relations with other teams, each valued and respected the other. 10. Regular review The team regular reviewed its performance and goals and alters its priorities and practice in the light of review. IV.1.4 4.1.3Why team accepting and learning from others create synergy? Putting together a team composed of different personalities can be difficult and, at times counter-productive. Failure to create synergy can result in failure in fulfilling the team’s objective. Trainees must know how to support the variety of talent and appeal to individual perceptions of success, otherwise they may become bored of feel ineffective in their work. One tool that can be used to identify different personality types and their respective motivation was the Enneagram. IV.2.2 4.2.1 What is the meaning of team dynamics? Team dynamics are the unconscious, psychological forces that influence the direction of a team’s behavior and performance. Team dynamics are created by the nature of the team’s work, the personalities with in the team, their working relationships with other people and the environment in which the team works. Team dynamics can be good. Foe example when trainees improve overall team performance and got the best out of individual team members. They can also be bad, for example when they cause unproductive conflict, demonstration, and prevent the team from achieving its goals.
