where my mental stimulation provides me an opportunity to grow intellectually. The best leaders are those that are not okay with being stagnant and work hard to continuously develop themselves. Nanjundeswaraswamy et al. (2014) state that “transformational leadership has the characteristics of individual influence, spiritual encouragement, and intellectual stimulation.” The third strength I will evaluate falls under my realtor theme. This theme describes my unique approach to relationships and how I invest in them. Transformational leaders “take the individual into consideration and create an open culture” (Nanjundeswaraswamy et al., 2014). As a leader I am inclined to take my followers feelings, goals, fears and dreams into consideration in an attempt to better understand them. Weaknesses The first weakness I will evaluate using the transformational leadership theory is intertwined with my developer and responsibility themes. While my investment in others can be seen as a strength, I believe it can also be seen as a weakness. Assisting my followers to grow as individuals or professionals can ultimately place me in a position where I could take on more than I should or am capable of. Knowing when to say “no” is something I have always struggled with throughout my life. This can place me in some challenging situations in the long run where I may fall short of what I have promised. The second weakness I will evaluate falls under my belief theme. My belief system is firm, and I rarely have the tendency to stray away from it. Because of this, I have the potential to miss out on several personal opportunities that may not completely align with my belief system. Due to my strong belief system I have the tendency to leave self-interests behind. Bass (1999)

8 TASK 1: PERSONAL LEADERSHIP EVALUATION mentions that transformational leaders can push their follower to move beyond immediate self- interest. I do have the tendency to strive for a team that takes a similar approach, and that isn’t always a good thing. I believe this can be a weakness because I could have the potential to push my followers a little too far. The third weakness I will evaluate is my realtor theme. I mentioned earlier in this paper that I believed this theme was one of my strengths, but I do believe it can be a serious weakness if I am not careful. Investing in the lives of my followers is a good idea, but there needs to be clear boundaries that cannot be crossed. If I, or the follower, crosses those boundaries, it can compromise myself as a leader and potentially place me in a dangerous situation. Actionable Items Aalateeg (2017) states that leadership is the most critical factor in the success or failure of the organization. Generating actionable items are important to grow as a leader. Choosing to not address my weaknesses and work to alter them into strengths is going to be an issue in the long run. The first actionable item I have recommended for myself is to ultimately learn when enough is enough. I personally struggle with my own limits and that is a significant downfall as a leader. I need to learn where the boundaries are in the organization with leaders and followers,
