This shows that even going to jail would not restrain him from spreading ideas he believed in, and more importantly, the people that sent him to jail because they argued with his beliefs would not prevail in the end. He went on to lead several marches and demonstrations across the nation, with his most famous being his “I Have a Dream” speech which inspired millions and turned the tide on freedom. In 1964, the US Congress passed the Civil Rights Act, which forbade discrimination across the board, including race, color, sex, religion, or national origin. This prevented scrutinization from others just because they may not see eye to eye with the topics described. More recently, Malala Yousafzai spoke for rights she felt were necessary for women, and forever changed the education system for the better. The “argument”, or the Taliban shooting her in the head because they did not agree with her beliefs did not matter because she rose up and prevailed by getting women more educational opportunities and extended general freedoms. In conclusion, all of these powerful figures stood up and fought for what they believed in even though many were against them. They overcame adversity to achieve great things and improved society as a whole. Many of their goals were met, and millions of lives were forever

Preston 3 changed. Whether it was long term or short term, all of their contributions gave to the greater good. No matter how hard the struggle for freedom is, or how many people talk, freedom always prevails.
