Terms Definitions
A typographic ornament.
typefaces that imitate handwriting,first used in the 16th century, script letters and and cursive typefaces appear to be drawn with pen and ink. Unlike script, cursive letters are not joined
an embellishment or decorative addition to the character,found most often in cursive or italic faces

a specific use of a typeface, not necessarily a full alphabet.
negative leading
space removed so that type can run on top of the lines above or below it
what is a type family?
a collection of variations of weights, sizes and proportions of a single typeface.
A widow is a very short line – usually one word, or the end of a hyphenated word – at the end of a paragraph or column. A widow is considered poor typography because it leaves too much white space between paragraphs or at the bottom of a page.
