Agony in the Garden
Jesus prayed in the garden of Gethsemane that he wouldn't have to suffer unless it was God's will; Jesus has his disciples wait for him, and they fall asleep three times
Before Jesus was crucified, this was done to him; whipped with a special tool that had thick knots, so that when it hit him, his flesh would tear; also known as "flaying."
Jesus' rising from the dead after three days; central belief about Jesus that Christians hold.
Last Supper

Jesus' Trial
Initially charged with blasphemy, then taken to Pilate and charged with treason; then taken to Herod and claimed guilty; then taken back to Pilate and sentenced to death.
Crowning with thorns

Way of the Cross
Series of steps used to represent the events and/or incidents that took place on Good Friday.
The method of death chosen for Jesus by the crowd; involved being tied/nailed to a cross and waiting until the legs broke, so that the heart would be unable to pump blood, and only then would the victim die.
Jesus' body is taken into the tomb by Joseph of Arimathea.

Betrayed Jesus' location to the Sanhedrin to earn some money; doesn't think he will cause harm to Jesus by doing so, but later discovers their true intentions; gives money back and hangs himself.
Promised to take care of Mary, Jesus' mother, after Jesus dies; one of the only disciples that made it to his crucifixion.
Joseph of Arimathea
Laid Jesus' body in the tomb.
Suffering; another word to describe Jesus' crucifixion.
To overthrow or an attempt to overthrow one's government; crime Jesus was charged of and put to death for.
To say things that go against the teachings of God; Jesus was charged of this, but was not put to death for it because it was a religious crime and therefore did not concern the Roman dictators.
