Neolithic
New Stone Age btw. 8000 and 5000 BCE; period in which adaptation of sedentary agriculture occurred; domestication of plants and animals accomplished
Afterlife
Part of religious belief that you will live again in a life after this one on Earth
Autonomy
A self-governing state, community, or group
Bureaucracy; civil service
Administration of a government chiefly through bureaus or departments staffed with nonelected officials
Caste system
Social class structure in India, with "Untouchables", and so forth
Citizen
A person belonging to a certain nation
Conversion
The switching from one way of thinking or doing things (especially beliefs) to another
Deity
A god or goddess

Started around 8000 B.C.E., dogs, horses, wheat, barley, etc.
Elites
A group or class of persons or a member of such a group or class, enjoying superior intellectual, social, or economic status.
Empire

Lifestyle before agriculture and domestication, always moving with food source's pattern
Nun
A woman who has taken vows (Christianity), a woman who devotes herself to religious life
Pagan
A person who believes in many gods
Pantheon
One of the largest domed Roman buildings that was used as a temple for Roman gods and goddesses., (antiquity) a temple to all the gods; a monument commemorating a nation's dead heroes
Pastoral
relating to shepherds or herdsmen or devoted to raising sheep or cattle
Patriarchy
Male ruled/dominated
Pilgrims
A religious devotee who journeys to a shrine or sacred place
Polytheism
Believing in many gods
Priest
A man that is the "leader" of a specific church, power on local level
Priesthood
When a man becomes a priest and joins the ranks of priests
Reincarnation
Religious belief that one comes back from death as another person or thing
Role of Nomads in Trade
Nomads spread world's knowledge around the globe, spread religious beliefs and ideology too
Sacred Texts
Religious texts vital to that specific religion
Sedentary
A people not migratory; settled
Slavery
The use of human labor without pay, forced upon them
