12:00 a.m. (24:00 hrs)
Sentence: The time of day when the night officially begins is called midnight. Before that we call 'evening'..
12:00 p.m. (12:00 hrs)
Sentence: In North America, people eat lunch at noon.
8:00 a.m.
Eight o´clock in the morning.
Sentence: I like to drink coffee at eight o´clock in the morning.
8:15 a.m.
Quarter past eight in the morning
Sentence: The bus comes at a quarter past eight in the morning.
9:30 a.m.
Nine thirty in the morning / It´s half past nine in the morning.
Sentence: I usually start work at half past nine in the morning.
Eleven forty-five / A quarter to twelve.
Sentence: My brother calls me just before noon most days, usually at a quarter to twelve.
1:00 p.m.
One o´clock in the afternoon.
Sentence: I always feel sleepy at one in the afternoon. / I always feel sleepy at one o´clock in the afternoon.
4:00 p.m.
Four o´clock in the afternoon
Sentence: The lunch hour in South America is often around four o´clock in the afternoon.
5:20 p.m.
Twenty after five in the afternoon.
Sentence: Rush hour starts at twenty after five in the afternoon where I`m from.
6:40 p.m.
Twenty to seven in the evening. / Six forty in the evening.
Sentence: I like to eat something small for supper at twenty to seven in the evening.
8:00 p.m.
Eight o`clock in the evening.
Sentence: My 3 year old niece goes to bed at eight o´clock in the evening.
10:10 p.m.
Ten after ten
Sentence: He checks his email at ten after ten every evening.
11:15 p.m.
Eleven fifteen // A quarter past eleven.
Sentence: She often gets home from work late, at a quarter past eleven.
