Terms Definitions
The quantity of matter which a body contains, irrespective of its bulk or volume. It is one of four fundamental properties of matter.
atomic mass
the mass of an atom
significant digit
a digit that is nonzero, or when it is zero, it is followed only by zero digits. Used in rounding.
A unit of three dimensional measure of space that comprises a length, a width and a height. It is measured in units of cubic centimeters in metric, cubic inches or cubic feet in English measurement
The quantity of anything, as water, displaced by a floating body, as by a ship, the weight of the displaced liquid being equal to that of the displacing body.
The force on an object due to the gravitational attraction between it and the Earth (or whatever astronomical object it is primarily influenced by).
A measure of the amount of matter contained by a given volume.
