Summary

In response to the officer's question: "Isn't this a great country altogether?" Frank simply says "'Tis."

Analysis

Frank's monosyllabic answer ends his tale of woe and misery on an expression of boundless hope. At the same time, he tells readers this is only the beginning of Frank's life story, that an entirely new chapter in his life will be told in a separate memoir called 'Tis.
